What Is a Ribbed Lid
A ribbed lid has vertical ridges running along the outer skirt. The ridges provide a textured grip surface that makes the lid easier to open and close, especially with wet, oily, or arthritic hands. The functional advantage comes at a slight aesthetic trade-off compared to the cleaner look of a smooth lid.
