§Buying Guide

Choosing a Size

8 oz works for travel retail, salon samples, and subscription boxes. 12 oz is the standard retail shelf size for daily use shampoo. 16 oz suits family size, professional backbar, and salon retail. All three sizes come in boston round, bullet, and cylinder round shapes.

Caps and Closures

The 8 oz and 12 oz bottles use a 24-410 neck finish, which fits standard lotion pumps, disc top caps, and flip tops. The 16 oz also comes in 28-410 for higher output pumps that move thicker formulas faster. Pumps are the default for shampoo because they dose without tipping the bottle. Disc tops work if your formula pours easily and your customer prefers to control the amount by hand.

Shapes and Colors

Boston round is the classic pharmacy silhouette. Bullet bottles taper at the shoulder for a grip that works well in wet hands. Cylinder round gives you the widest label panel for front of shelf branding. Seven colors are in stock, from clear (shows the formula) to amber (reduces light exposure for color treated formulas) and black (premium positioning).
