42-410 is the wide mouth neck finish exclusive to foam bottles in 4 oz, 6.5 oz, and 8 oz. The 42 mm diameter is nearly twice as wide as a standard 24-410. This oversized opening is required for the foaming pump mechanism, which needs a wider bore to draw liquid and mix it with air through the internal mesh screen.
Compatible Closures
Foaming pumps only. No standard caps, lotion pumps, sprayers, or lids will fit a 42-410 neck. This is a deliberate design constraint. The foam pump is the only closure type that works with the wide mouth foam bottle format.
