What Are Dispensing Caps
Dispensing caps are closures that control how product exits the bottle. The category includes disc top caps and flip top caps. Both allow the customer to open, dispense, and reseal without removing the cap entirely. This distinguishes them from non-dispensing caps (smooth lids, ribbed lids) which must be unscrewed to access the product.
Disc Top vs Flip Top
Disc tops have a smaller opening and control flow more tightly. They suit thin liquids like toner, shampoo, and dish soap. Flip tops have a wider opening and a hinged lid with an audible snap. They suit thicker products like conditioner, body wash, and hand sanitizer where the customer squeezes the bottle.
Seal Options
Both disc top and flip top caps come in three seal variants. Plain (no seal liner) for salon, refill, and professional use. HIS (heat induction seal) for tamper evident retail packaging. PS (pressure sensitive) for a resealable liner. Select based on your retail channel and compliance requirements.
