§Buying Guide

Types of Pumps

Propacks stocks two pump types. Lotion pumps dispense 1 to 2 ml per press and suit medium to thick formulas: lotion, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, body wash, and liquid cleanser. Treatment pumps dispense a smaller, more precise dose (0.5 to 1 ml) and suit serums, facial oils, and concentrated formulas where the customer needs exact control.

Neck Finishes and Dip Tubes

Pumps are available in 20-410 and 24-410 neck finishes. Each pump includes a dip tube that reaches the bottom of the bottle. Dip tube length must match the bottle height. Measure from the underside of the closure to 0.25 inches above the inside bottom of the bottle. Tubes can be trimmed with scissors. See our dip tube guide for detailed instructions.

Colors and Material

Pumps are available in white, black, and natural. The pump head and collar are PP. PCR options available at the same price as virgin.

When to Choose a Pump vs a Cap

Choose a pump when the customer should not have to squeeze, tip, or pour the bottle. Pumps give one-handed, mess-free dosing. This matters in wet environments (shower, bathroom sink), when holding a child, or when the product is expensive and waste must be minimized. If your formula is thin enough to pour (water, toner, cleaning spray), a disc top cap or sprayer may be more appropriate.
