How does a foaming pump work?
A foaming pump mixes liquid soap concentrate with air as the pump is pressed, producing ready-to-use foam directly from the bottle. Inside the pump, liquid passes through a mesh screen while air is drawn in through a separate chamber. The air-to-liquid ratio creates the foam. This is why foaming pumps require diluted formulas, typically one part soap to three or four parts water.
Do foaming pumps require a special formula?
Yes. Foaming pumps need a diluted, low-viscosity formula to work properly. Standard soap or body wash straight from a regular bottle is too thick and will clog the mesh screen. The typical ratio is one part liquid soap concentrate to three or four parts water.
